On Wednesday 14th November a group of 9 year 2, 3 and 4 children went to a football tournament at Maiden Beech. We had five games and they improved their game playing each time. The first game against St Barts A was tense. St Bart’s scored quickly but Misterton were determined to even the score, which we did. In the last couple of minutes St Barts scored again and we sadly lost the game. Our second games was against St Barts B and again we fought well with some fantastic goal saves but unfortunately we lost. Our third game against Greenfylde was great. The children got over some of their fear of tackling the other players and defended well, but alas we lost that game too. Playing Merriot we had a good start getting 2 goals up but then Merriot fought back hard and managed to clinch the win. Our final game was against Ashlands. Misterton were determined and this was their best match yet. They marked players, won tackles and scored two goals only letting in one so we won 2-1. There was some outstanding playing. Summer never gave up, Isabella and Violet tackled well and kept the ball. Fantastic goal saving from Ciaran and Joseph. Awesome goal scoring by Callum and Joseph. Fabulous defence by Alfie and Harry. They represented the school well. Joseph received the player of the team from the Maiden Beech referees. Well done team Misterton we’re very proud of you!
